Teenager !!!!!!! TYLER

First day of Kindergarten
1st grade

NOW!!

I also lost some photos of Tyler's birthday. I don't know what happened in the downloading process but all that I have from our party is a video. All the pics disappeared. I'm a little disappointed about it. Of course I can take more pics of him...but I know the ones from the actual party are gone!!

Anyway, now both of my boys are teenagers, and baby girl is only a year and a half behind them.

We are grateful for our third child, Tyler Sanders. He was my easiest birth. Had no problems
in the hospital. First two weeks of his life were so much easier than the first two. He nursed
easily and I thought life could not be better!! Then!!!

Well, can I just say COLIC???

The following four months are a blur in my memory. I know we did a lot of things during that
four months. We actually packed up our whole house and went on our first furlough from
mexico. I know a lot of work went into that...then we found a house to rent in Little Rock,
and borrowed a bunch of stuff to set up house...and all of that was done during the days of COLIC!! It was harrowing!! Every evening from about 4 til 12 Tyler cried. We tried everything. nothing worked...except taking him outside in a stroller and rolling him up and down the bumpy sidewalk. The only problem with that was that it was beastly hot out and no one could stand to be outside for very long. We took turns, Billy and I and Aubrey and Billy's dad. At night I would drop into bed around midnight...after again going through the regime that did not work....and Tyler would be in a little bed next to me. I would put one hand on him and
fall asleep while he cried. Sometime after Midnight he would finally sleep. The next morning,
he was fine...until about four in the evening. I was soooo tired!! I guess we finally got
used to it.

Then one night at supper we were eating...and I said to Billy...hey!! Ty's not crying!!!
And after that he was the happiest, sweetest, easiest baby there ever was!!! It was a strange thing! At least now I can truly empathize with anyone who has a colicky baby!!

All of this is to say that we praise God for our son. He is a gift....much prayed for and much loved!!

when will it end?

We had about four really nice days. some clouds, some sun, a little rain...before the weekend

when we were again deluged with rain! Its going to be a great year for the mosquitos!!

then I was going to add a picture but found that something happened to the last ones I downloaded. So you will not see a pic of the huge puddle in the back yard.

Really now, I am a reasonable person. and It is well known that I love rain. But, really

I just hope for a little break. I think its coming soon. I don't want to go in the opposite direction.

Fifteen years in the desert of Chihuahua really made me appreciate rain. And I really hate to

complain. I'm not complaining about the rain. I'm just hoping for a bit of sun before more rain comes.

rain, rain, go away

Its been raining off and on for 6 days. We have had nearly 10 inches.

I love rain. When we lived in in the desert in Chihuahua I thought about

rain all the time. I prayed for rain and cried for rain....longed for rain...

because it is so dry there. I love to watch rain, sit on the porch

with a cup of coffee, watch out the window while I read a book all

cozied up on the couch,

lay in bed at night and hear the rain on the roof,

look forward to the weather forecast when they predict rain.

I really like rain. Rain is good. Rain is relaxing. Rain is beautiful.

I feel happy when it rains. Even now with ten inches....the prediction

is more rain in the next 5 days. There is a slight respite today and I

see a bit of sun peeking over the trees...but tonight, tomorrow and the

next day there is more than a 50% chance of rain. In a few days I

fear my love for rain might wane.

my Garden

This is a grape tomato plant. It already has about 10 blooms altogether. Isn't it cute?

This is the sum total of my vegetable garden... two tomato plants, red bell peppers, and yellow squash. I might add a jalepeno plant,
if I find one. I would love to have some other things.. but we will see. Can't wait to eat!!

yard work

billy doesn't want to cut the grass...he really likes the wild look of this clover. I like it too...but pretty soon we won't be able to walk in the back yard without getting lost.
