let her eat cake!

This summer Autumn checked a book from the
library about baking fun cakes. This is her first attempt.

She was pleased and so was everyone else...when they ate it :)

Viva Mexico!!

This month we are studying Mexico. Of course the kids think this is really cool

since they were born there :)

September is the month that Mexico celebrates their Independence Day.

We made some paper decorations that are typically used for this celebration.

These are called Papel Picado. It was much easier to do than I thought...had a

book with great directions!

To go along with our study, of course, we had to make some Mexican food.

So, we made tortillas. And then had to make tacos. They were pretty yummy.

I have made tortillas quite a few times but these turned out the best shaped ones

I have ever made.

I do plan to post again. I have pics on the camera and ideas but some how it just hasn't been happening lately.

I do have a really clean house. I have a well organized school area....and plans made out for most of the next two months for home schooling. I have lists of books I want the kids to read and activities I want to do with them.

I have lots of okra, bell peppers, field peas, tomatoes and jalapenos in the freezer. I made peach jam.
I sold some of my junk on eBay. I have been reading lots of books.

So, you see i have been busy.... of course the clean house will not last...and the well organized school area will become unorganized. My lists will grow...because that is what always happens.
But, we will learn a few things and eat fresh food from the freezer.

And soon I will post some new pics. maybe. soon.
