most of last week 3 of my kids had the swine flu. it was scary.

they had high fever and no appetite...and didn't move around

much. that bothers me the most because i know they felt really bad. not only that but our pediatrician said he had the flu the week

before and was sicker than he had ever been. not encouraging news!!

anyway, i figured we would get it, too. but not yet. maybe not at all? we will see. should know in a few more days.

so, after all that and some rainy days, too, the sun has been shining

and outside is so beautiful. I sat out with the kids a couple of days

ago soaking up the sun and eating lemon popsicles. it was a perfect

afternoon. in spite of the clouds and cooler temps, a marigold had

another bloom.

so i took a picture.

swine flu is bad. I don't like swine flu. my kids don't like swine flu.

tamiflu costs lots of money. my friend suggests we eat more bacon.

Its really cool outside today. About 52 according to the outdoor thermometer.

I saw the hummingbird feeder was empty a couple of days ago...and thought

its too late now. I seem to remember last year seeing the last

hummingbird early in October. But, then I decided to fill it one last time,

just in case. Within minutes he came!!

delighted. most of my faves are red
but i noticed the blue one sitting in the
middle... i love it too. Thanks for the idea!!

little bit of paint

I painted this old shelf recently and after I put

some of my birds on it I felt so pleased I decided to take a picture. so here it is..... my old shelf that used to be white and now is blue. I love this shade of blue and the red together!
