after the very long drive

so we came home...after we went home...
we left home to go home...
they say home is where the heart is...
and yet I think home is a perspective.
a place where I perceive that I am home.
when I am with my kids and billy.
when I am comfortable and warm in my
bed and all my loved ones are safe.
but, now i begin to understand some of
the biblical idea that we really aren't home
until we go home to heaven. i'm not ready to
go there yet, but somehow the idea is not
as scary as it used to be when i was a girl.
so i ramble on in my brain as i try to make sense
of leaving mexico and going home to little rock, which
too is temporary because now we might be moving
to wisconsin.......and if we do that will eventually
be home...a place to put my stuff...a place to feed
and care for my family, a place to have guests and
make memories and find joy....so there i go home
